Event Management

Whether it’s in-person training, arranging a performance review meeting, or delivering a presentation to end-users on a development program, the Meetings and Events tool can handle it all.

Identified Industry Issues

Businesses run many events, occasions, training sessions, and room bookings – for training, performance reviews and other in-person hosted sessions.

Managing an accurate record of what is happening next and has happened previously can be complicated.

Companies need to track:

  • attendance
  • non-attendance reasons
  • rooms required
  • waiting lists
  • pass/fail results if required.

Inform People’s Solution

The Inform People module Events provides a self managed calendar and room booking system.

A solution to hosting and tracking:

  • in-person events
  • online webinars
  • any planned situation where you need to track who is attending in advance and record their involvement on the day.

Whether you are running regular new-starter onboarding sessions, new menu launches, in-person first-aid training, product specific hands on demonstrations or just booking a room for a strategy meeting – Events is the place to start.

Let’s get technical for a moment

Due to the variety of situations that people in a business need to attend, Events is a module with a wide range of configurations too.

When setting up an event you can pick from the following:

  • ‘Open attendance’ or ‘Invites only’
  • ‘People apply’ or ‘Managers apply’
  • Attendance decided by the Event host and ‘confirmed by an attendee’ or ‘confirmed by their manager’.

Depending on the type of Event being planned you will always be able to record attendance and if it’s a Course (or similar) with a Passmark or Fail status, this will be recorded post-event and retained as part of an account’s activity and achievements.

Reasons for non attendance can be captured too: a request to provide a reason is sent via Message to anyone who is marked as absent so that they can provide their own response, which can then be reported on by Event organisers.

For ease of searching for sessions to book onto, and for integration into Pathways, there are also Categories for Events.

These are unique to your company set up and can be as simple as ‘Induction Modules’ and ‘Management Training’ to help to narrow searches.

If you run an extensive suite of Events, you might want to set up even more granular Categories to facilitate even more reporting insights and to make adding requirements for attendance to Pathways more specific.

Built into Events as an automatic feature are reminders that are automatically sent out to anyone with confirmed attendance on Events, these are sent at 30 days, 7 days and the day before.

The Events module also includes a dedicated search page with the following initial search options:

  • Response needed
  • Your events
  • Your team’s events
  • Events you can attend
  • All events
  • You attended
  • You created

With the additional options:

  • Text search of Event names
  • Status (Created, Published, Live, Closed, Completed, Cancelled, Expired)
  • Date and Time

Events can also have information from the Knowledge Base attached to them for pre-reading or access during the Event.
